Creating a Coffee Themed Kitchen with Accessories

Kitchens and coffee are a natural decor pair. For coffee-lovers, like me, that's a simple combination that makes sense. Creating a coffee-themed decor is easy. There are so many choices for accessories and accents. Here I'll share with you some of the most fun that I've found to create a delightful coffee-themed kitchen.

Coffee-themed Kitchen Accessories

With the placement of just a few coffee-themed accessories and accent pieces, you can enjoy a new theme for your kitchen decor. There are plenty of style choices - vintage, modern, country, etc. And you can find the right style match easily.

  • Coffee Wall Clocks - both functional and decorative. Place where you don't have other coffee-themed items, or group with accents on the wall.
  • Coffee Mug Racks - set like the author did in her own kitchen, next to her coffee maker. It's a way to mugs handy, while still displaying more for your kitchen theme.
  • Coffee Message Boards - another of those functional and decorative. Set up by the kitchen phone, or just used as a reminder to the family, these make great decor accessories.

Wall Decals for a Coffee Themed Kitchen

So not everything you may get will be both functional and decorative. Some things are just for decoration. Like coffee wall decals. They are fun to add a little extra coffee decor to your kitchen.  And their function is only that. But they're easy to apply and not expensive at all. In this article, you'll find some good advice for getting the wall decals properly on your kitchen walls.

Using Accessories Makes Kitchen Decorating Easy

I'm all for easy decorating. That's why I like making use of accessories to carry a kitchen decor theme around the room. Whether it's the functional kind, like a coffee-theme wall clock, or just the decorative kind, we can keep decorating easy. And frankly, who doesn't need that in the kitchen?

Creating a Vintage Theme Bedroom

Bedroom decorating can be simple when you start with a theme. A vintage theme is one of the easiest
because there are so many choices and options available to you. Create your bedroom unique your own with the accents and bedding you choose.

Start with a Color Scheme

I'm a big fan of having a good starting point when decorating. Colors are an easy choice. If you're interested in a vintage look, you obviously prefer soft, warm colors. That's very traditional in vintage looks. Whether it's pinks, browns, blues, greens, yellows, you are attracted to a more muted color scheme.

Maybe you found a bedding set that you love. Look at the colors in the print. They will help you decide on a color scheme for your bedroom decor.

Add the Accent Pieces

The accent pieces in your vintage bedroom will make all the difference. Besides your bedding set, which will take center stage in any bedroom, the other accents pieces can include lamps, wall clocks, pictures, figurines, wall decals even your curtain choices.

Tiffany lamps are considered a great addition to any vintage look. But I have word of caution here. Tiffany lamps often command their own attention. You might prefer the look of a tiffany lamp on a side table or desk away from your bed.

Vintage Can be Different Themes, too

Considering how many choices in vintage looks you have, you might like to create a theme-within-a-theme. Here are some to think about:
Mixing things like stripes and florals can work very well for your vintage theme also. So don't be afraid to express you inner vintage person with themes that work for you.

Creating a Penguin Themed Bathroom

If you want to create a penguin themed bathroom, it can be very easy. In fact, it can be as easy as adding a few extras. Or it can go as extensive as re-painting to create a tuxedo effect, an underwater effect or a glacier effect. But, we Easy Home Decor prefer the simpler version. Here are some of the extras that can add a great penguin effect in your own bathroom.

Penguin Accessories

Accessories are the easy and least expensive way to create a theme in any room of your house. Penguins are a favorite theme for many people so there are plenty of choices for you.
  • Shower curtains and curtain hooks
  • Soap dishes and toothbrush holders
  • Pump bottles
  • Wall Decals
  • Bath mats
  • Pictures and wall hangings
  • Figurines
Any of these when added to strategic places can help you create a penguin themed bathroom.

How Many Accessories

Some people are happy to remind you that more is not always better. Sometimes it's just more. While others will tell you the more the merrier. How many penguin accessories you use is entirely personal to you. Your own style will dictate your preference for how many pieces to add to your bathroom.

Here's a trick that I like to use to help me determine the number and placement of items. I start with a few fun things, like a shower curtain, a pump dispenser and a picture on the wall. Then I start adding one by one each new piece. As long as I get an "ah" feeling, that piece stays and I go on to the next one. When I hit the saturation point for my own style, that "ah" feeling is no longer there. Then I just put away that accessory for a time when I want a little freshness in my decor.

Creating a Penguin Bathroom is Easy

The simple things that you can add to your bathroom decor will make a huge difference in the look. That's we say creating a penguin themed bathroom is easy. If you want to make your own bath into a penguin theme, take heart at how easy it really can be.

Fruity Theme for Kitchen Decor

Creating the kitchen of your dreams isn't always easy to do, but you can spice up the decor to make your own kitchen inviting and fun to be in. A fruity theme makes a charming way to decorate. I love the simple decorating style, one that doesn't require huge expense and huge time commitment.

Easy Kitchen Decor

With easy kitchen decor ideas, you can change the look and feel of your kitchen quickly. Simple items can add so much. With a fruit theme, you have lots of choices. The first thing you need to decide is if you want to go with a single fruit theme, like apples or grapes, or go with a medley of fruits.

I chose the medley idea myself. That way I can mix in design items that are a single fruit if something strikes my fancy. Of course, I started with the floor. Rugs in my kitchen play an important part. I stand for lots of my kitchen working time. So I want comfortable rugs. And I found them.

Fruit Medley Kitchen Accessories

Fruit medley kitchen rugs shows you some of the examples for those that I chose from. Going up from there, I also added some fun accents, like a cookie jar and wall plaques. Then it was a simple matter of adding in a few additional items such as placemats on the table, and a simple centerpiece of mixed fruit.

Presto, I had a new look and feel to my kitchen. All by starting with a fruit medley kitchen rug. This really is a simple and easy way to redecorate. And only using the kind of accessories that are inexpensive to change out.

Adding Holiday Accents to Home Decor

With the holidays coming, I like to find new and unique ways to decorate my home for Christmas. But, it's got to be easy decorating for me. That's why I like the accents and accessories for home decor.

I'm really not good at doing too much work to get a new look for my home. The same is true for holiday decor. Decorative pillows are favorite things for me to use to add accents in my home. The Christmas pillows tossed casually on the couch or side chair can be just what's needed.

Another favorite addition is holiday throw blankets. Lap quilts, afghans, woven blankets all work great to add a bit more decor without much effort. Here's my best trick for creating a new effect for the holidays. I lay a Christmas throw blanket over the back of the couch. I position it so that most of the design is visible. Then I tuck a complementary pillow in the corner of the couch.

For me, they don't have to match. The Christmas time look is enough. For my sister, it's a different holiday throw blanket on the back of her couch, then adds two matching pillows on either side of the couch.
story. She likes to have matching effects. She puts an elaborately designed

I'm not afraid to bring outdoor holiday decorations into my home. So things that can work for the fence or a stair railing outside can also work well inside behind a side table or along the stair case.

It's the little accents that can make a big difference in any kind of decorating, so I like to use little accents and accessories where ever I can. And yes, sometimes I go a bit overboard. But, I can always put a few things away to save for next year.

Sunflower Bedroom Decor Theme

The charm and cheerfulness of sunflowers makes a great bedroom decor theme. In fact, sunflowers as a theme works great for just about any room in the house. Decorating the easy way is all about the accessories.

With any room, when I start a redecorating project, I like to start with the largest piece. In the bedroom, that's the bed. It's usually the focal point of the room so it deserves the first attention.

When I decorated my sister's bedroom, she didn't want her sunflower theme too strong, so we chose a simple yellow and brown bedding set. Then began adding in the accessories, all about sunflowers.

Sunflower Bedside Lamp
The accessories we added were:
  • Sunflower lamp shade on a black night stand
  • Decorative throw pillows with sunflowers on her bed
  • Sunflower Wall Clock
  • Silk sunflowers in a candy jar vase on her dresser
  • A small treasure box with a sunflower motif
For a final touch, we added sunflower wall decals around the room. We grouped several wall decals
to form a bouquet of sunflowers above her bed, then arranged sunflowers to peak out from the sides of her windows.

The total effect was simple, but created a most charming look for her sunflower bedroom theme. And the best part - she got all of this for far less money than if she had done a complete redecorating on her room. She had even wanted to replace the green carpeting in her room, just because she was bored with it. When we completed the sunflower theme, that same green carpeting was no longer boring to her. It took on a new life as the perfect complement to her sunflower decor.

Fun Wall Clocks for the Bathroom

Rubber Duckie Bathroom Wall Clock
Every bathroom can certainly make use of a wall clock. But, fun ones can be the best. That's what I realized when I visited my daughter in her first home.

She was getting ready for work while I fixed breakfast for us. Several times she came rushing into the kitchen to check the clock, then she remembered all she had to do was yell to me for the time. I made the suggestion that she needed a clock in her bathroom.

The next day, she took a small alarm clock and plugged it in next to the sink. Don't you know I was horrified! I could just picture her electrified in her rushing to get ready for work. And, of course, I hurried out and found the most adorable bathroom wall clock for her. Battery-operated so no chance of electrocution in her bathroom.

When I decorate a bathroom, I always include a wall clock as part of the decor. There just seems no reason not to! Adding that little touch of wall decor is both fun and functional.

Whether you have a particular theme or style, like vintage, modern, etc., you can certainly make use of a bathroom wall clock in your decor. I like the fun ones, personally, but there are plenty of great wall clocks that will match any decor options.
